Most ot today's newspapers have relegated COVID news to the inside pages for the first time in a long time. The much more important news of the football draw is a welcome return to normality!

Definitely a return to normality - England were shit.

If you don't follow your own rules, then you undermine them and they lose credibility.

Regardless of the risk, the rule was there set by himself and he should have stuck to it.

From reading the news report on the Nations Propaganda Mouthpiece this morning, I get the impression that the Cabinet Office were involved in part with this. Surely HRH The Chief Minister would have flunkies to plan his diaries, brew his tea and wipe his overpampered arse? They would know the rules because they along with HRH The Chief Minister and COMIN devised the rules, and the AG and his monkeys would have legalesed it.   Like the Department of Incompetence, the Cabinet Office is a another monolithic and a leviathan of a department.

They are as guilty as HRH The Chief Minister. HRH The Chief Minister is thickest leader of the all so their is an element of stupidity and mitigation for his actions - sub normal mentality, and over privileged lifestyle.

In an ideal world Heads should roll, HRH The Chief Minister is going thank fcuk, but the chimps in the Cabinet Office need putting in the zoo.

I would suggest Beamans do a report into the Cabinet Office but it’s likely they will say it’s understaffed, and needs loads of qualified project managers.

What got me about it was this in the Manx Radio piece:

In a statement from the Cabinet Office it says it contacted Hospice Isle of Man to find out whether the chief minister could still attend.

The charity replied that he could, and carried out a risk assessment, and put in place "a number of measures to protect patients and on-duty care staff".

So it's not even that they forgot or were careless - they asked for it.  The charity isn't going to say no - they won't want to offend the Chief Minister and all those powerful civil servants - and had to do all sort of extra things to cope.

That's clearly not the case.  Why  wouldn't they want to risk upsetting the CM or civil servants? The hospice receives very little government funding and are needed far more  by government than they need them.

Like anyone or any organisation. If you lead by example then it reduces problems. If you don't then expect the consequences. (not exactly rocket science is it ?)

CM misjudged the risks and the impact of what he was portraying. Albert is spot on.

Can Tynpotwald get their Doctor to sign HRH The Chief Minister as unfit to govern (The Madness of King Howard) and let the Squeaker or El Presidente fulfill CM role on a temporary role. He has demeaned this role of office, he has got what he wanted recognition by the establishment.

They sent the form off saying he was Completely Bonkers (Exceptionally!).

But it ended up in the wrong 'out' tray...and he ended up with a CBE instead.

Hospice receives around £600k pa from Government according to its 2019 Annual Report. Hardly ‘very little’, though in my view it should be increased.
