No.  What I'm telling you is that Hospice made the arrangements and the setting based on it being "non medical" because they (a) knew there was a possibility someone could be there who had been away in the previous 10 days and (b) they couldn't control that attendees could definitely have been mixing with people that had just got off the boat or plane.

For example, HQ was back to work mixing with people post his negative test.  As are most normal people.

So, if you are Hospice, opening a brand new wing , you are taking that risk away by simply setting up as I said above.  This is what happened.

I would also add Trmpton - what HQ did should have your support give  your views on restrictions?

And what most people are telling you is that it was an error of judgement.  HQ is the Chief Minister who announces these restrictions to the GMP.  A modicum of self reflection would have indicated that even if the risk was low and well-managed, it did not send the right message.  What would have been a much better signal was for him not to go and make an announcement that even if the risk was low and managed, it was not appropriate for him to attend thereby setting an example to the GMP.

Oh, and don't link adverse press coverage with IOMG funding.

It isn't rocket science, just a degree of emotional intelligence.

Most people? Seems there's quite a lot of people who wouldn't agree with that statement. "... at best a PR cockup" doesn't really cover it. Whatever.

The most questionable aspect of Quayle's actions and subsequent response, imo, is his comment regarding MR's £1m+ subvention and how they should've reported his visit. That's the massive "PR cockup" right there...

Not the first time he's mentioned funding to the media either. I make it the 3rd that i've heard.

He 100% shouldn't be mentioning funding.

Manx Radio amd gash reporting is a separate issue.

As for the GMP, the vast majority really don't care.  It's the usually Karen warriors moaning on Facebook.  Same with Broadway.

The risk assessment and HQs judgement is a distraction.

The laws governing this look pretty explicit. No health care site visits within 10 days of arriving back. No ifs, buts, masks or waivers.

It's a setting, not a site.

There are plenty of ifs and buts too.   What happens if you have an operation in Liverpool and require post op care back here in hospital?

Then you are treated at nobles in line with the relevant protocols and procedures in place for that exact, and pretty common, scenario.

Next?

Well indeed, as referred to above, who signs off on the guidance?

Tentative link to this thread but was related to Mr Quayle’s visit to Hospice and his comments about Manx Radio funding.

Andy Wint just now on maninline- not a direct quote.

”so, Manx Radio part funded by government subventions, and additionally like this “

Cuts to adverts to prove point about funding and How Manx Radio could easily survive in its own right.

”Isle of Man railways- Chooo chooo”

An advert paid for by IoMG - quality

It’s rather embarrassing and extremely unbecoming of a Chief Minister, let alone any Chief Minister of the day, having tantrums and blaming all and sundry. To have a go at the media is rather comical, his PR minders and his train load of entourage, bag carriers, and flunkies must also find his outbursts hilarious.

It is perception by others and a do as I say not as I do mentality which people are fed up of. The them and us and almost 3 tiered society - one rule for politicos, and preferred suppliers, one rule for civil servants, government employees and government agencies whilst the general plebs are having to obey all the diktats, and if we break the rules we are severely punished - it’s either black or white, no shades of grey.

HRH The Chief Minister should bow out gracefully or retire on grounds of ill-health, there must a deputy Chief Minister?
