The positive person isolating stops them from sharing the same breathing space as the people they otherwise would've shared it with. Yes, it won't catch everyone, but given spread is exponential, taking people out of the chain is a good thing.

Well its a waste of time and money, to late to bring in restrictions now, let it rip through the community and be done with it.

It's not going to work. People just won't take them. Why would you? Get a positive test you're out of work for 10 days with no financial support. They either don't think things through or it's deliberate. It's beginning to look like the latter.

My local sailing club has just closed the kitchens for a deep clean after a member of staff tested positive. This is the correct approach.

Perhaps deep clean is a bit of an exaggeration of the need. A wipe down of the surfaces would suffice perfectly well. Viruses have no resistance to bleach, or even the mention of bleach so I dont know why they all shut down for a 'deep clean'.

There should be financial support. But anyone who isn't self-employed will likely have sick pay in their contract?

Soapy water is enough to do coronavirus in. Also virtually nobody has caught it from a surface anyway.

For ten days when they aren’t sick but have voluntarily taken a test that says they might get sick at some point in the future and so can’t work?

For ten days where they have been given an isolation order.

Just listening to the Gov Covid Briefing.

"Balance of risk" seems to be the new go to cosy phrase, although Howard said he has used it much.

Which is fair enough.

The whole lot of MHKs need emptying, the last 18 months has shown that they are incapable of governing anything, let a lone a "country"

The ignorance shown by totally dismissing the advisory group is the final nail.

Bunch of fuc*ing incompetents.

They normally get by because the IOM government does not have to make any proper, life changing decisions. This is different.

Covid has changed that and its like going into war with a primary school teaching assistant as the leader (No disrespect to primary school teaching assistants BTW - I am sure they know their own capabilities)

Listening to MBE today was sickening, "Its COMIN decision at the end of the day"      absolute f'ing arseho*es

Seeing as they love conspiracy on here.

A new one: The Island is being used by Bojo and co as a testing ground for the new unlocking set to take place in the UK, both trialling the 2+2 contact tracing exemption and removing mandatory testing/isolation.

It's likely bollocks, but someone will believe it.
