Anyone know if residents need to wait 2 weeks to travel to the UK after their 2nd vaccine?? I know this rule exists for people coming to the island but I’ve heard different things about UK travel.

No, you don’t have to wait. You’ve always been free to leave. That hasn’t changed.

However, as a resident (or non resident),  in order to take advantage of the vaccine exemption pathway, you have to be double vaccinated and your second vaccination must have been two weeks prior to your return to the island.

That’s the answer to a different question

well yes,  but free to leave isn't the same as being free to arrive at your intended destination. ask jet ski man ( also an answer to a different question )

Given that until 14 days ago we could only exit to England ( the Guernsey airbridge exception apart ) for 18 months, and England had no restrictions on entrants from IoM, it has amounted to the same thing for leaving IoM

Too true.

Given that we. are supposed to be 'living with Covid' then why have more hospital restrictions been imposed (15 mins lists, phone beforehand etc) ?

Of course those changes make sense but they contradict the message Ministers are trying to convey. So does holding Tynwald virtually. It seems again one message colliding into another.

I think this speaks for far too many people now.  Personally I have lost confidence in DA and his mixed signals. Where is the Infection Control advice to the public (remember they brought the person responsible out early on in the outbreak). Where is Henrietta and her reading of our situation.

I hear the squabbling behind the scenes is quite fierce. DA needs to let go now. This will not end well for some.

Restrictions are being put in place as they are reacting to an emerging situation. That's what government's do.

Why does the public need 'Infection Control' advice now? Unless some people have been hibernating the past 18 months it's blindingly obvious what people can do to limit their risk.

Just own your own situation and stop looking to government for all your answers. We all know the drill by now.

We do, but there are grey, ill-defined areas and given the penchant for imposing criminal sanctions, people want clear guidance.  Not unreasonable.

Is that the government official line there?

They have to vote on it tomorrow. Going to be quite interesting if the majority of members don't agree with Speaker. Especially since he is then asking him to vote for him to be President as the next item.

Perhaps hoping he would score some points

Good governments and good governance means effective preplanning and clarity. Not u-turning every 5 minutes depending on the lates populist headline.

Yesterday was ridiculously named 'Freedom Day' but some people now have egg on their faces.

By the way - Infection Control is what it is all about isn't it? Managing Infections in and out of hospital is a specialist area that requires more expertise on show than we have at the moment.
