IOM Covid removing restrictions

With 12 in hospital I really think they need to sort out telling people the reasons for admission.

If they are all healthy people seriously ill with COVID then those of us putting faith in the vaccine to protect the island need to know.

If they are all people who would be in hospital anyway then the people who panic when they see growing numbers need to know.

Inform us and then we can make informed decisions.  Hide things and rumours start and people panic

The minister of magnetism said the last cases were in hospital with covid related issues or words to that affect

Lovely headlines on the Nations Propaganda Mouthpiece this afternoon. A Manx Vaccinated couple armed with a Manx Care letter of Vaccination had to quarantine in Malta, as they refused to recognise the letter. The ironic thing is Malta recognition of the Channel Islands and Gibraltar and other islands, letters of vaccination, all except the Isle of Man which they won’t recognise. So if you wish to go away, your taking a gamble. Says wonders of the Isle of Mans Diplomacy and Negotiation Skills, others are more successful.

Interestingly the Travel to Malta advice on the Maltese Government's own site is quite comprehensive:

The recognised vaccine certificates include:
  -The Official Maltese vaccination certificate
-The EU Digital COVID vaccination certificate, issued by EU, EEA and non-EU countries connected to the EUDCC  gateway
-The United Kingdom NHS (paper or digital) Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccination Certificate
[...]  -The Gibraltar, Jersey and Guernsey  vaccination certificate

There's something missing from that last line isn't there?  It would be interesting to find out why they all got the deal and the Isle of Man didn't.  Especially as there had already been problems identified with entry to Malta from the Island.

It's not clear when Ms Firmino arrived in Malta (though it sounds like fairly recently from her interview) but Malta announced they were accepting the others a week ago,

It speaks volumes of Ashford, and HRH The Chief Minister who is Chief Minister in all but name, he certainly doesn’t want to deal with difficult decisions and is leaving issues to the minions to sort out. HRH The Chief Minister likes to play the International statesman, on the world stage - well he likes to boast of the IOM UNESCO Biosphere and the Islands green credentials etc. What’s the External Affairs Team within the Cabinet Office playing at too? Couldn’t they have spoken to European counterparts, consulates in the UK, pressing the IOM recognition?

Disappointing to see IOM Newspapers have given Fairfax the front page of this week's Independent.

Just another Covid clown out to scare the impressionable.

Not the aim, in few weeks the situations improves, there is light at the end of tunnel. I have not read article, but I hope it gets the main messages out, the 2+2 High-Risk ideally should try to take mitigations and avoid high-risk setting for the next few weeks.
