Although Ashford is implying this was unexpected.
Ramseyboi
He sounds deflated. Just sack off the border testing and open up to everyone like the exit framework said we would when cases match UK. Its awful that teenagers and single or non jabbed people have to test when infected locals can wander around freely, and even worse that some people still aren’t allowed in at all.

Couldn't have been that expected as they had a very recent and very quick recruitment drive around the same period for contact tracers etc. Think they are acknowledging they cant do the scale of contact tracing they find themselves in atm. So what happens with this team going forward, I think a few were on zero hour contracts but there were a number of full time roles with in the team. Apple
https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/care-home-closures-incredibly-distressing-admits-ceo/ Teressa Cope telling us, over and over, how 'genuinely' sorry they are and how 'difficult' the decision was to stop visiting to care homes. So genuine and so difficult it has to be repeated several times to get the message across. Somehow it doesn't sound so genuine. More patronising. Like it was at the Board meeting.

I am guessing all the residents are double jabbed so if they are this is the most amount of protection they will have. Is this the way we are going to go now? if it is then you have to ask what is the point of getting vaccinated?

Banker
Just got this from IOM BANK With a continued increase in Covid-19 cases on the island and related staffing issues, from today we politely ask that you observe social distancing and wear face coverings in our branches to help protect our customers and colleagues. Please bear with us and be patient, as it may take a little longer for us to serve you at the moment. We would also like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. thought cases were going down ! Have they just got the 3 open with regent street shut? Annoymouse
Any details of the deceased? Age and whether they were 2+2 might be helpful. If it was a young unvaccinated person they’d be using it to push vaccination, well if it was someone old and fully vaccinated it should be used to push the message that people still need to be careful.

I took the kids to Onchan park yesterday and was going to get us something to eat from the cafe but it was closed and it had a sign that said (and I am paraphrasing) we are closed due to the current covid situation on the Island, we are taking a few days to see how things go and will open again soon, none of our staff have tested positive for covid. we ended up going to the little shed by the dhoon.
