Blimey. You sound like the yorkshire sketch on Monty python.

I feel like it too. But this generation, or their parents more like, seem especially wet.

I was glad to get away and hated spending money I didn't have on unnecessary travel.

ETA: I would have gone abroad rather than back here.

I’m sure your parents were delighted you didn’t come back either, would have had to buy another pound of dripping & loaf for the journey

They had been of a generation that they would have quite rightly thought it weird and somewhat worrying if I had wanted to constantly come home like a needy child. It would have reflected poorly on them.

So did you let your kids come home from university or insist they stay away?

It's unlikely that I am going to choose to have children. An only child is clearly unacceptable and currently I would struggle with the school fees for two.

Yep. The world could certainly do with fewer people breeding unless they can afford to fully fund it. The British economy especially.

ETA: I should probably add a smiley here

That’s usually the tried and tested excuse of overweight soap dodgers who can’t get a bird. At least if they’re heterosexual that is. I’m not sure it’s an issue for most.
