What a great message by Alf Cannan, they don’t seem to be bothered about anything anymore which is good. As long as they compensate businesses for the damage caused so far by the omicron fear this is good news.

They are painting a picture of doom.

Just been watching Alfs big media conference. Talking the obvious really, thought there was an immediate announcement going to be made. Mark Lewin the CEO of Starship Enterprise was interpreting medical slides. Before long it’s going to be the CEOs deciding policy and presenting to the GMP.

No medically qualified people involved?  Just chief execs?  We can see who is really in charge.

Two people required for a press conference. CM and CEO DHSC, no CEO from DOI or Starship Enterprise. No David Ashford either!

Paul Moulton just asked if Alf would consider closing the borders. He must really be missing last year.

But why? Daily cases are going down hospital isn't exactly filling up but yeah let's have restrictions.  It makes no sense I suppose the media will probably never have a bigger story in their lifetime so want this to continue

Close contacts of anyone with suspected Omicron will no longer have to self-isolate.

The Chief Minister has announced that cases concerning Covid-19 and its variants will now all be treated the same, with close contacts being asked to take lateral flow tests daily for seven days.

Those currently in isolation in response to Omicron will be contacted by 111 from Wednesday and released from self-isolation, and asked to take an LFD.

Contact tracing will be based on self-declaration, with those who test positive asked to get in touch with people who may need to take precaution.
