I said this yesterday.  It is pretty basic stuff tbh

Agree.

I had a cold a few weeks ago. No symptoms of Covid just a normal cold which I’ve had before. The difference being, if I had it last year, the COVID police would have you isolating for 2 weeks. I tested every day and I was negative. I was off island in November and someone I know on the island whom I saw (wearing a mask myself) had Covid. I went to an NHS Test and Trace Centre - tested negative. Very easy to do.

I'm sorry, but one thing that the last two years have taught us is that governments can decide policy on all sorts of irrational grounds, usually based on zero data points.

Governments yes, but I was sort of appealing to Rachel’s scientific rationality as to why her tweet was poor.

If anyone follows Peter Boxer there’s a belter that’s just popped up in his feed where an anon account has taken her to task for having no shame and she then tries to claim it’s all a government conspiracy to discredit her. I do think she’s either pissed or lost it.

Any chance of a link please?

Is she getting that information as a member of the advisory group?  In which case, she should be binned off it immediately as breaching confidentiality .

It could be it is from other people in hospital in which case there would also appears to be a breach of patient confidentiality  The only way there would not appear to be a breach somewhere is if family and friends were the ones forwarding information.

I have no issue with Dr Glover, I did however think that, following some of her comments early on in the testing rumpus, that there was probably a reason for her to have been excluded from the club?

I think that keeping your professional opinions to yourself might be quite important in public life, unless you are specifically asked for them.

Gladys, I think this is the whole point. If you feel well, or have a slight sniffle, why should you stay at home? You are basically ok! Yes, you may pass it on, but chances are  you will pass it on to people who may only have a slight sniffle, or nothing at all.

Take yourself back 5,10,15 years. We went to work. Someone always had a cold. You may or may not catch it. Rarely would you be off work with it. However, some infirm and elderly people may catch it from someone and end up in hospital. They may even die of it, although they would call it pneumonia.

We now need to accept that this is here to stay, and crack on with life.

We do but do you really want somebody coughing and sneezing all over you when you having a pint. Taking a day or two off for a cold was always viewed as shirking and I don't see that changing but if you have a cold is it not reasonable to try and reduce spreading your infection. Yes a cold will not seriously harm most people but generally we all get a bit pissed off when catch one.

Pre pandemic I would never have thought of wearing a mask but if I was across and on a crowded bus/train/tube I would probably now wear one just to reduce the chance of catching something. Similarly if I had a cold at work I would wear a mask if near anybody else or when not at my desk. It just seems a polite and considerate thing to do.

A few weeks ago we had somebody in the office with a stinker of a cold. We were all mask wearing when not our desks or if somebody came over to you to discuss something and not one of is caught the cold. Possibly a pure coincidence but it made a few of us think that next time somebody in the office has a cold we may do the same again out of politeness

This lady was always a loose cannon and had a very high opinion of herself and was not adverse to claiming all the credit when a very hard working team were involved.   She thought she should have been involved in Government decisions, probably still does , her input was probably welcomed until she turned into Princess Pushy and that was the rock she perished on.   Her behaviour concerning John’s death is unbelievable and deplorable I really think she has become even more delusional than ever.

Someone else has now linked it above. She’s either had a day on the sauce or she’s just lost it. She clearly sees no issue with what she said and then defaults to claims that government is trolling her like it’s a conspiracy. I’m guessing she isn’t one to delete a tweet or apologize. We’re all starting to see perhaps why nobody could work with her.
