There is loads there that can be done with the restrictions in place, such as crown green bowling. Either way, it doesn't matter. Jersey is lucky so far not to have cases in the community. That is not because of test on arrival and the 50 odd cases they have detected. It is because of social distancing and restrictions.

But the swimming pools and gyms are open despite you saying they’re closed and making up some figure of 1000 job losses for testing on arrival!! You do realize jobs are being lost at airport because of restrictions. https://www.aquasplash.je
Gladys
It would be interesting to know if there has been such widespread testing for any other infectious disease and whether that will inform the debate.
Banker
Jerseys luck carries on! Only 11 active cases from 96000 tests & none in hospital. strange how the harder you work to resolve problems the luckier you get!!

T memory cells, cross reacting with other coronavirus infections are probably why some people (80% or so according to that video, but a figure I've seen before too) either don't get covid or don't get ill with it. These hang around much longer, and are ready to spring into action even if most of the antibodies have gone. So for those whose immunity is compromised due reduced T-cells are the ones that we need to look out for, which is generally the aged? The older you get the less T cells you have to fight back? wrighty
Can you guys start a separate thread titled "Jersey is ace - oh no it isn't" and leave this one to a discussion on IOM and the coronavirus? 14

To be fair I don't think theres much more to discuss were stuck where we are until the infection rate goes down in the uk which at the moment wont be until at least next year and we probably wont see howard and ashy until the next case has been confirmed and they try to convince us even though theres a confirmed a case the island is still covid free lol

The more you go looking for anything the more you find it. I’d suggest it’s not unusual to find so many cases right after you ramp up testing to test more people. The UK has lost its head and Matt Hancock should be sacked immediately for his pathetic attempts to try to kill the UK economy. Even Boris Johnson has given up - he’s just the accidental Prime Minister now. More worried about winning Brexit than the fact his governments policies are driving the UK down the toilet even faster than Brexit will.
