If the government had introduced 2 tests for the 2000 odd that returned here for the xmas (secondary testing as backed by Dr Glover)...we'd have avoided one of the major lockdowns. I can answer that! They ended up in jail because they broke the law...! That's right isn't it? The lady prosecuted for getting petrol only has herself to blame for being stupid by not preparing properly. If she’d been civil she’d have had words of advice and she’d have avoided all her trouble. Other people in similar situations just had words of advice. But that simply isn’t true it is it? We just had more draconian legislation that gave much less scope for a non custodial sentence when breaches occurred. I'm not sure they could. It seems to me that there is significantly more hostility to Govts globally nowadays and much of that was driven by their actions during lockdown. Admittedly they were probably damned if they did or damned if they didn't. But people don't really consider the lives saved, they remember lives lost and being locked up though. Peoples lives were put on hold and in many cases (especially the young and the poor) significantly damaged.
