Piers morgan again calling people who dont agree with the 6 rule covidiots and that they are putting everyones lives at risks. Funny that he was so proud of his son breaking lockdown rules and going on a blm protest. I guess this virus just leaves virtue signallers alone.

A bit like the IOM Constabulary did!!

If you bring in the 24 hour results now it will have a massive negative effect on the economy as 85,000 people go and spend elsewhere.

And yet you claim the policy is not financial entrapment. That is the clear overriding agenda. It’s about VAT and tax largely not managing covid risks as the coronavirus self isolation system is largely unchecked and completely under resourced. It’s just about disincentivizing travel off island to potentially spend elsewhere.

Because there will be virtually no tourists between now and April. If you bring in the 24 hour results now it will have a massive negative effect on the economy as 85,000 people go and spend elsewhere.

Looks like Guernsey are introducing it after tourists season ended to try & stimulating the economy and save links . See post above with link

The message from Manchester is that the youngsters are catching/spreading it which is why it's not reflected in the hospital figures.

Oh that's pretty much what everyone expects and it's something you will see in all epidemics.  Younger people are simply more mobile and so have more chances to get infected.

Ridiculous. Alcohol is the worst gateway drug, by a country mile.

The National Institute on Drug abuse covered this. Their findings are consistent with the idea of marijuana as a "gateway drug." However, the majority of people who use marijuana do not go on to use other, "harder" substances. Also, cross-sensitization is not unique to marijuana. Alcohol and nicotine also prime the brain for a heightened response to other drugs51 and are, like marijuana, also typically used before a person progresses to other, more harmful substances.

Good for Guernsey. I hope they are reintroducing social distancing and all the other measures jersey has in place otherwise it will be a disaster. Already looking like we may go back to 14 days.

It's fairly typical of the incompetence of the Manx government here that we actually have looked at the different ways that Jersey and Guernsey have handled things and then produced something that is actually worse then either from several viewpoints.  In particular the lack of automatic 14 day isolation for those who have been in particular areas in the last 14 days[1] is less stringent than even Jersey is.  Charging for a test is also a bad idea.

[1]  From Thursday Jersey is including some areas of the UK in this, such as Bradford and Bolton.

No they’re not as already confirmed and on their website if you bother to read, 24/48 hours isolation will be in a region/country classification.

Exactly they just don’t have a plan at all, no one would argue over a classification guide rather than the one size fits no one approach
