UK lockdown 2 on the way

Starting with North East and rolling out across the country

So forget any notion of IOM travel restrictions easing to the UK

Lancashire next

They'll slowly add more and more places purely to avoid the "UK lockdown 2" headlines. But it's coming. Key agencies and people have been briefed.

Forget unrestricted travel

Nice assumptions.

Alcohol frequently causes psychological problems. This isn't emergent science, cannabis does less harm than alcohol and nicotine.

Welcome back to the Seventies!    In the early days of the Tour de France ,riders would take a good slug of red wine during the stages ,and go on to win. However the Riders who tried " Skinning up " a big Doobie,  on a Dark Side of the Moon LP cover, used most of their energy giggling at a matchbox on the startline , and won  SFA...  ( can i use the ellipsis on this forum) or does Kneele Down own the copywright? It usually means you you have some thing more interesting to say... ...

Do you just make this stuff up!! 200 unemployed flybe workers is just lies,300 from university is more shite! The unemployable will be those on disability.

i would expect the figures have been somewhat massaged with some going on other allowances!

but don’t worry another 21 airport workers joined the numbers today

No. More ignorance from you. 200 due to the collapse of Flybe does not mean 200 Flybe workers. You made that up.

Go and look at the government website and the monthly stats. There is always a boost to the figures in the summer due to school leavers. Around 1000 leave every year. Around 300 go to college. What do you think the rest do?

The unemployable are not on disability. They are the unemployable.

You should do some research and educate yourself before you accuse people of making things up.

A very high handed attitude. Usually the default attitude of some government muppet on a cushy number looking down at people on benefits who they think are a drain on their taxes. I assume now there’s just more “unemployable” people going to be around then is there? Right the way through this thread you’ve just consistently proved how out of touch you are with what’s actually happening in the IOM and around the borders specifically. IOM Bank laid about 10% of their staff off. Now we have the airport workers (just the private ones, not government workers naturally who will still get paid to do nothing). HSBC have laid a load off too. Many engineering jobs gone over lockdown. But it’s all ace isn’t it living in a bubble and the job losses have absolutely no link to either covid of the borders being closed.

It's quite amusing the way you cherry pick (incorrectly) made up stats to suit your "free the island" agenda. Not all lay offs are down to covid. Just thought you'd like to know...

Are you saying that the govt workers should get laid off too, or that the "private ones" shouldn't?

What do you think should be done differently re the airport?
