You made that up. Go and look at the government website and the monthly stats. There is always a boost to the figures in the summer due to school leavers. Around 1000 leave every year. Around 300 go to college. What do you think the rest do? The unemployable are not on disability. They are the unemployable. You should do some research and educate yourself before you accuse people of making things up. Absolute rubbish, 10/12 local cabin crew lost job in flybe demise, they had no local base and no airport workers lost jobs so do some research!! the unemployment figures will be going up next few months from airport workers, finance sector, hospitality workers etc but don’t worry you say economy is doing well so I’m sure you will have words of comfort for them

What do you think should be done differently re the airport? Clearly I’m saying if there is no work at the airport you’d expect it to impact all staff equally not just kicking the privately employed ones out the door as you haven’t got the guts to deal with the others. What do you think should be done differently re the airport? This was posted last year from a FOI request The numbers of staff employed by the Department at the Airport on full time, part time and zero hour contracts are: Full time: 107 Part time: 6 Zero hour: None The Numbers of Rescue and Fire Fighting staff employed at the Airport are: Full time: 31 Part time: None Zero hour: None The Director of Ports and the Ports Business Manager have been excluded from the staff numbers as they are working in dual roles between the Airport and Harbours. The annual staff salary costs for the above Airport employees are as follows; Airport staff salary costs are £6,745,972 in total. The Rescue & Fire Fighting Services staff salarycost is £1,867,340. so what are they all doing?
