So they should ban smoking, alcohol, drugs, TT racing, and cars that have road accidents and kill people and a whole pile of other stuff if you really believe that. It’s a shame they don’t just let you sign the equivalent of a DNR letter that says you won’t take up NHS resources if you catch covid and then just get the hell out of dictating your life and leave you to manage the risks.

You tell 'em....

Lots of talk that one of the welders who went to Tesco has tested positive and the prison is now on full lockdown.

Will be interesting to see how this one pans out as he obviously has been in contact with police, prisoners, wardens, plus he went to Tesco (wearing a mask)

Not seen anything official yet but am surprised there hasn’t been a confirmation or denial givin the level of chat about it.

Is this a Facebook rumour but nothing official?

Official government Covid stats are about 6.30pm at weekends

Aye.  All over facey but nothing official.  Several people stating they have had prison visits cancelled and claiming they have had confirmation via phone calls from inmates and staff.

Having recently returned from the UK it’s not the Apocalypse that a number of the Facebook brigade make out with every person being infected with a deadly virus.

The restaurants are all well run with waiters in masks, tables distanced, hand sanitizers every where etc.

The streets are busier at weekends but we just wore face masks in busy areas. The only large groups wandering around were teenagers and upto 21 , none with face masks on.

Be interested to see the age profile of cases over past few weeks as I’m guessing that most will be in under 25 categories with many being students.

Fair enough, hardly apocalyptic but it does make the Isle of Man to be a bit of a paradise. No face masks required. You could hug and kiss the waiter/waitress if you wanted, or indeed the people on the next table.

Hugging strangers would not be welcome in the Iom or UK!!

having seen some of serving staff in Iom, face masks would improve hygiene no end!

Why would you do that?

The French call it "Joie de vivre" roughly translated meaning "a cheerful enjoyment of life".

For example you might be sitting in a restaurant and just for the simple joy of being able to enjoy a normal lifestyle in a Covid-free environment like the iom you might just want to express it physically.

Of course, if you're a miserable bastard such behaviour would be incomprehensible....

To be fair randomly cuddling strangers and staff in a restaurant is just fucking weird.  Maybe it's your age.  I suspect you probably thought Savill was harmless too?

In your opinion but there are other systems and opinions I would just like to see some analysis of the Channel Islands process to establish which is best rather than stubbornly sticking to one that hasn’t been updated for 6 months

@Banker

How is your analysis into the processes of the CI's progressing?

One criticism I would make though: who the heck imagines that work on the electric railway is in any way 'essential'?

Ian Longworth, probably?

How very very wrong.

I knew about Saville's nasty little indiscretions back in the 1990's.

Looks like you're firmly in the "miserable" category though....
