It's better for the economy longer term too. The official death toll in the UK has now passed 50,000. Unofficially - God only knows.

Much better than ending up like Sweden or the UK. It is as we didn’t have to act like total dicks under emergency powers to the point that it was picked up on the Guardians radar that we had jailed a disproportionate percentage of the population including several juveniles / children. We certainly don’t seem to be able to garner the sort of publicity some rival jurisdictions have managed to get despite their being about 10 people responsible for PR in cabinet office.

That's England and Wales. Look at the ONS. 2000 new cases every day. And that's only those being tested. ONS estimate is 8000 new cases every day. Obviously IOM border should remain closed. Let's move on. If you don't like it (and some old people won't ) then stay in.

Except you call that "normal" where as I say that keeping the border closed isn't "normal". But it's sensible. June seems totally arbitrary. NoTail
The border should be lifted as soon as clinical judgement indicates that the virus is rare in the uk and the chance of it being brought here is very low. We can easily cope with an isolated outbreak.

I mention the end of June because by then we will have 4 weeks more data about how things are panning out elsewhere.
