IOM Covid removing restrictions

Another confounding factor is that the oldest, frailest people with the most comorbidities don't get admitted to ITU.  At the height of the initial wave decisions had to be made such that if patients were thought unlikely to benefit from ITU they were given TLC instead.

Was this the relational for patients being discharged from Nobles into residential homes, or was it just UK policy. Nobles we were told had expanded it's ICU facilities into other areas but they do not seemed to have been fully utilised.

Over 40 posts on IOM News and Politics already! General levels of hysteria raising consistently. It always amazes me Corrin doesn’t get shut down for spreading fear and fake news on the basis that the main covid idiot magnet on that site (amongst other fake fire spreaders) is a fake FB account in the name of “Gareth Kelly” who has an uncanny nack of widespread fear spreading and general idiot farming for comedy effect. The panicky Facebook Karen’s seem to fall for it time and time again.

The policy for covid in nursing homes was/is the opposite of what you seem to think - if a case was found in a home that patient was brought in to Noble's to prevent nosocomial amplification in the home.

Noble's did expand ITU - from 6 to 16 beds - but the extra beds were never needed.  Decisions on whether to admit a patient to ITU or not are made all the time, not just for covid.  Most nursing home residents would not be candidates for ventilation on ITU as the chances of them benefiting from it are almost zero.

Meant to say rationale.

Not to labour the point but my question was mainly in relation to the discharges from Nobles (in preparation) to RDCH and subsequent residential / nursing homes which has been a criticism of the strategy here on the IOM.

No doubt any enquiry / review of what decisions are made, why and when (and the evidence to support) those decisions would bring much clarity to help people to make sense of what took place.

It’s the same on Manx Radio & 3fm Facebook pages, loads calling for level5 etc. Once 7 day testing finishes tomorrow, new cases will stop and then we can all sleep safely in Covid free IOM😂

Have a look for the fake FB profiles amongst the noisiest proponents though if you do a good dive. Seems there’s plenty of government workers hellbent on scaremongering and manilpulating opinion behind fake profiles.

Are we not doing the same on here ? Only about 4 people seem to post under their actual name.

Isn’t that the whole point of this forum and the reason why nobody takes anything said on here seriously? Unlike Facebook posts.

Does anyone take facebook posts seriously? I sure as hell don't, especially if its in corrins group.

Many people do though. The assumption is that all the posters are real people with real opinions. But there are so many fake accounts which lead opinion driving on there it’s genuinely concerning. Especially in these times.

Pot calling the kettle ?. Why would anyone take a post on here seriously unless it was directly insulting. I don’t see much difference apart from knowing who far more people are on Facebook from their profiles.
