Search it yourself and then, when you find it, share the link. I understand it’s important to know what is in the placebo. Especially when looking at side effects. Injecting something totally inert might tip off those on the placebo. AND these types of trials are all about difference.
the stinking enigma
I was going to add, without searching for it myself. 1

The placebo group got to wear red outfits...the actual vaccination group green...and they all got beamed to the planet Zorg.

They did something called a double-blind experiment so that neither the recipient of the vaccine nor the person giving it to them knew whether it was the Covid vaccine or the placebo. So both groups would then go about their lives not knowing which they had, and so the two groups would act the same. Edited November 23, 2020 by Roger Mexico Missed 'not'. the stinking enigma
I realise I am way out of my depth here, but assuming the placebo was a meningitis vaccine, how can they be so sure there wasn't some sort of reaction to that which left those taking it more susceptible to covid? Kopek
Incidentally, a recipient on the R4 prog this morn didn't know which she had had but presumed that she had had the vaccine? Why? Shows the advantage of 'Blind Testing'.????
Banker
Any chance of Howie introducing testing again like uk & other countries? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55052381
jaymann
Not sure if this was already posted. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55052381 Reduced isolation in England with paid for 5 day test. Oh @Banker pipped me there! Would be really useful to see what science they're basing this model on and whether it's something Howard and Ashford might consider.
