@Nom de plume It's hardly "second hand" if you heard it there first. What was "incoherent" about it? Sounded like a fairly straight forward announcement.

I can’t speak for the Terrace Chippy, Robinson’s or the Casino but I’d assume they are closed due to staffing issues unless they have a ‘B’ team to pull in?

Also, if it hasn’t been quoted via a member of CoMin or validated IOM Govt account, it’s second hand.

The news I heard and what’s reported on their various sites doesn’t say that, what I heard & read was isolate only if you have symptoms.

now western swimming pool has shut as someone went to one of venues even though no advice to do so, someone wants some extra paid holidays!!

All local media outlets are notorious for being slow in updating their sites and being inaccurate, it's a given.

So obviously you think the only reason Western Swimming Pool has shut its doors is because "someone wants some extra paid holidays" and not that it's a common-sense decision based on perceived risk.

You're a fool. It's a casual attitude like yours that likely exacerbates the problems we face.

Or if they live with anyone who has. Or has been in contact with anyone who has.

I don't think it's an unreasonable request given the lack of clarity in the circumstances, just for the next week which is the critical time for this cluster.

The fact that 1886 weren't even contacted as part of T&T should highlight how we should take the 'low risk' perception of the statement from Gov with a pinch of salt.

Possibly right. But that risk is against government advice. Don't government own the pool or is it indirectly via the commissioners

It’s owned by the Western Pool Authority. It’s not central government directly or indirectly, and the Western Commissioners nominate the managing board members. That doesn’t mean they own it.

The risks spending 15 minutes or more in close proximity to them. Simply being in the same venue as them doesn't make you at a high risk of catching it from them. That's not the same as saying there is no risk, there is always a risk, but the widespread closure of venues is an overreaction. An understandable overreaction, but still.

If you have symptoms then call 111. But being in Robinson's at the same time isn't a massive risk.
