monasqueen
Once you have symptoms, you have probably already infected loads of people. Best to err on the side of caution. Look what happened to Jersey. They still have 556 known active cases. Their average age of those tested positive is just 43, so not just old folk in the firing range.

Let’s await the update advising no new cases and then stop the panicking!!! He probably shredded the letter telling him there was a huge risk to the public. Out of sight, out of mind. Annoymouse
28 minutes ago, Banker said: There have been clear published instructions, there is no need to isolate or contact 111 unless you have symptoms!! Most are adhering to these instructions but some people & venues have decided to take alternative action which is totally within their rights But we’ve been told from day one that it’s the asymptotic carriers that are the real danger because they can spread the virus and be completely unaware they are doing so? That was ultimately the reason we had to lock down. Now the information is seemingly to ignore the risk of asymptomatic cases and focus on those who are showing symptoms instead, is it any wonder people are confused? There are multiple very distinct messages from 111 that are unclear. The message from government was, and is, crystal clear: only ring 111 if you have symptoms. The messages from other people are "confused", but that's to be expected with social media really. I think 111 are probably giving out tests to concerned people because it's better than just saying no to them, both from a PR perspective and from a knowledge point of view (as Dr Glover says), and also there's no point having the argument and making more work for 111. wrighty
That is a huge number waiting tests. Is it right? Take a few days to get through that lot.

Exactly it’s to keep the MF & Facebook book Karen’s happy, no new cases but let’s test every one who rings up as we haven’t got anything better to do!!! TheTeapot
Suddenly and entirely predictably the limitations of our 'everything is great lets not do a single thing for ever and ever' strategy are exposed.

the stinking enigma
I think maybe people are concerned about asymptomatic spread. I'm not sure why this confuses anybody that isn't. It's quite logical in base
