Probably stop at half term so teachers can have their holidays like last time

You know that teachers still actually work right? and that the time they aren't spending with the little darlings is usually spent planning or marking. It isn't some magic doss where you clock off at 3pm and go to the pub.

Trying to keep remote kids engaged is even harder, and it'll almost certainly be more effective to entice them with shorter online lessons than bore them to death. Not many people adult or child can endure hours on end through a screen.

It seems a reason for off-island genomics testing to identify if we have the new variant is so we can feed directly into the UK's surveillance.  Not that Rachel is now beyond the pale and we have no benefit from getting that kind of information in a day or so.

That was an excellently posed question today, asking if we have the ability to test on Island for the new variant. Henrietta replied no, then went on to give an evasive and deliberately confusing description of why that was.

The identification of the new variant on Island by us could easily be fed into the UK afterwards instead of us having to wait for them.  Although identifying it may not inform your initial basic control measure it would certainly inform your future choices and it is therefore vital time sensitive information. The question, IMO was designed to highlight the fact that the finest asset we had in this pandemic (Rachel Glover) is no longer working for us unfortunately. I would love to know why that is.

It was excellently posed, as you say, but the way it was constructed made me think that maybe there was a bar on using her name.  Plus, ashies dodge and pass the shit sandwich to henrietta was top drawer.

TBF. the current measures are the best the Govt be expected to apply, if it needs another week, 2 wks,, then that will be more easily accepted by us all? Beyond that...........?

I don't think that the Govt have made it clear the role that we 'Public' play in these controls, don't break the rules, don't  take a risk, don't go out tomorrow till midnight, don't add to the risk when we do not have all the facts to allow us to evaluate the risks?

Do you know many parents? The online teaching was mainly nonexistent and even worse for the under privileged without iPads etc

Clearly the Island's finest hacks don't.
