Nah - it's busy bodies in need of the thriil of power that cause these situations.

There are plenty of legitimate reasons not to wear a mask. It is pretty unreasonable for an asthmatic to have to justify not wearing on to every passer by with a cob on.

He wasn’t he shouted he’d left it at home & obviously couldn’t be arsed going back for it!

One new case out of 390 tests which was a day one arrival hardly the massive community spread we were told was going to happen to justify lockdown.

if these low numbers continue I hope he will reconsider and review decisions early

Doesn’t work like that chief, you can test negative on day one and still be positive on day 13. If they aren’t going to retest people that have been exposed to a positive case earlier on then it’s a fairly good job we are all effectively isolating for 21 days to minimise spread.

Just driven through Onchan and say masks 50/50 with those not wearing couples holding hands and taking up all pavement!!

called for petrol at corkills, everyone had masks on except one old boy and when challenged by another customer he said none of your business and went right up close to him. Noticed that the old boy came upto other guys car on forecourt to argue but he sensibly drove off.
so unless it’s mandatory these arguments will increase

Why on earth would you need petrol on day one of a "stay at home" lockdown?

It’s upto the staff to refuse service not for members of the public to intervene, masks aren’t mandatory and a lock down is bad enough without people antagonising others.

So you don't think there would have been any benefit to q better testing regime (any testing regime) for people coming into the island through 2019?

Was never keen on day 1 testing - a negative could give false reassurance, and with such a likely low hit rate you might have seen a higher proportion of the positives being false. This has changed now with the higher uk prevalence.

It’s a complex situation, and testing protocols need to adapt to the changing prevalence across. It may be that you can only work out what would have been better retrospectively - hindsight is always 20/20

Well, since according to the government page shouting carries the highest risk of transmission irrespective of mask wearing, I'd say approaching him was still daft.

Didn’t work very well in England. Do they have bouncers who stop you coming in? What happens if you take your mask off once you’re inside?

He approached the person who queried politely his lack of mask as he was very close and then went even closer to persons face!!

There will always be those who test the rules and probably the same ones that scream infringement of their ‘human rights’ in defiance of being told what to do, in this instance it’s someone that forgot their mask, providing social distancing is in place and adhered to it’s hardly a big deal, the virus soon fizzled out last time and that was with minimal mask usage.

Can you think of anywhere

Because people are still working

All my vehicles do a few hundred miles on a tank and the island is tiny.

With the exception of possibly a delivery driver I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't be able to run a few days without bothering a petrol station when we aren't meant to be going out.

Bit of planing ahead surely
