I saw it too and had to say it didn't look very busy at all. For us it was a busy long weekend but didn't amount to much more than that. I did notice that the roads were quiet and credit to the visiting bikers who seemed to be riding better this year causing less blood spilt on the open roads.

More atmosphere on the far side of the moon though, and what little atmosphere we did have here didn't feature at all on the TT Police programme.

Loved the World War II style map of the TT Course with the little painted casino chips though!! 10 Million Pound communication system, latest Land Rovers and Mondeos, Helicopter paramedics and all controlled by a tourist guide map glued to a monopoly board. Amazing! :D

Watched it too - even managed to tape it (after frantic scramble for tape..)

And who was featured heavily again? German Bikers, causing accidents and speaking really bad English while doing so - typical

Even that program mentioned that less visitors from the fatherland were coming over - I knew I was right - Just not sure where some people get their stats from...

Am I right that it's a series and there's another episode next week?

Did anyone watch it again last night? Thought it was a bit too down-to-earth, away from the action - still good to see a positive report about the island, though...

Got both on tape if anyone wants'em...

yeah I saw it, thought it was good for watching to try and spot someone you knew, but not exactly gripping otherwise.

what a bunch of eejits we have for police though, they came across like the slightly backward village bobbies they probably are.

Missed it last night but last week I saw it and it was worth watching.

What on earth makes you say Alex that our bobbies are "eejits" and "slightly backwards"? I presume from that you've been there & done their job better than them?

I for one would very much NOT fancy the job of a traffic bobby around the TT period.

Didn't watch the progs, but as far as the policing of the TT I think they do a very good job. Admittedly, the crowd is (generally) very good natured, but the police do very well in nurturing that good nature but keeping control.

A few years ago, we were having a drink outside the Hawthorn on the Peel Road and a few lads were doing the do-nut and skid thing. A police car pulled up a few yards back towards Peel and just sat until the lads went away. No heavy handed stuff but it worked; no-one was threatened, it was a gentle reminder that you have fun but take it easy! Much better than going in with truncheons or stun guns; sadly, UK police do not have that luxury!!

Well done to our coppers, and if they play with the crowd and look like "eejits", good on them they have it right!!
