lezayre
You seem well qualified for the High Roads, keep on digging the hole.

The Dog's Dangly Bits
Well it was obviously the Central was done for. Unfairly would be hoofing her out now.

It sounds like a dying pub was closed and they offered her other employment. If she was living above the closed pub she must have known it would be got rid of, surely. Would you prefer that she was given notice to leave even before it was put up for sale. Looks like they have kept the roof over her head and will do for some time. Even it was sold tomorrow, she would get months to vacate. Maybe I am just thick and completely missing something.

And there's living accomodation above it, it's been rented out and/or landlords living in it since it was built 25-odd years ago. IIRC, The Central is another registered building - a few years back there was a proposal to improve the junction onto Parliament Square with a roundabout, an idea that fell foul of The Central's registered status? I thought she was put in charge of running the Swan after Trevor got moved out but she was still living above the Central which she was also running, pre-lockdown closure? She was still in the Swan last week, I was in there. Or have I missed something/one?

The Dog's Dangly Bits
It seemed fairly obvious the Central would close permanently. It'll be a loss making operation or certainly very close to it. Most of the trade can be soaked up by the Swan. They've only got two pubs left in Ramsey now. Plenty of scope for other private business to flourish.
lezayre
Most of the trade is not being soaked up by the Swan, 3 to 4 Central regulars are using the Swan but the rest are using the Plough and the Buffs Club which adds up to lost business for the brewery. I think you misunderstand the brewery business model. They're not losing anything by doing this.
