You have a load of BAME people gathering in masses during a pandemic that seems to disproportionately kill BAME people. You reep what you sow and this sort of reckless behaviour harms their cause and people ultimately. In fact, that’s how it was explained to me many years ago by a black man I happened to be out with visiting various drinking establishments in Moss Side, Manchester. He argued that the words ‘black’ and ‘white’ were less to do with skin colour and more about ‘black’ indicating down-trodden, underclass, not as pure as white etc. He argued it was more a metaphor for that than an approximation of skin colour.
