Topaz Posted August 2, 2005 Share Posted August 2, 2005 what looks like a 200 passenger aircraft (possibly Air France A340 but type and airline details still not announced) overshot the runway in bad weather - and burst into flames. Some early speculation now that the plane might have been hit by lightning, knocking out instrumentation. So maybe , thank god , not as bad as first appeared. All 309 passengers and crew survived, only a few injured - nearly unbelievable, looking at the footage..
