Especially when he has a saw in his hand. 

I was at the hospital yesterday for routine treatment, and all the external signage had been changed, so it's likely that the cost is the signage, printing etc. 

TBH, if this is a new broom they need to reinforce the new regime, so I have no real gripe.  But let's see if it really does sweep clean.

It comes from parental training- to encourage good behaviours you should focus on the positives rather than the negatives,  or at least that's what my kids always told me.

I'd need to see the scope of the project (indeed, I can't even seem to find the new identity in question!) but £10k for a rebrand, including all the bumph, is eminently feasible. It's actually a little on the low side, if anything. Source: two decades as a designer.

Wouldn’t mind seeing a happy surgeon who was holding a banana, or an unhappy one who was holding a saw, or come to think of it, even a miserable one with a scalpel that was dripping with blood, would be okay. As long as he/she had the time to see me.

The waiting lists these days to see an orthopaedic specialist are unacceptably long. It can take a year to get a first appointment. Any improvement in this area would be great. I hope that I am wrong, but I fear these lockdowns have caused the already unacceptably longs waiting times to become even longer. That means more people, especially elderly people, who normally do exercise classes (e.g., aqua-aerobics in the NSC pool) to ease their pain will be enduring even more painful knees, hips and other joints. Some may be forced by their pain into complete inactivity. The new Manx Care honchos clearly have plenty on their plates.

I have an easy solution to get rid of the waiting lists for all the above procedures in one fell swoop; just classify them as 'procedures of limited value'. Voila! No more waiting list!

Maybe things are looking up as we exit lockdown and Manx Care are getting up to speed. Or perhaps my turn in the waiting list got to the top ( or someone died ).

August 2018 my haemo-oncology consultant in Liverpool referred me for an urgent neuro consult following nerve damage caused by arsenic trioxide chemo. A fellow patient who was being treated at the same time, same problem, was seen at Walton in 2 weeks. DHSC wouldn’t authorise off Island referral. So I joined the Nobles waiting list.

End September 2018, fed up with waiting,  I booked, privately, in Liverpool.  Saw a neurologist, was referred for a nerve conduction test, then back to the neurologist, all middle October 2018.

Nothing heard from Nobles. 

Then, this afternoon, I got a phone call asking could I attend the neurology clinic at Newlands on Thursday morning.

I’m actually seeing the visiting neurologist, from Walton. Same guy I should have seen 31 months ago, the one my friend saw within 2 weeks.

Probably just got to top of list! My Mum has been waiting to get cataracts done for over 12 months and told maybe another 12-15 months yet. Probably go private once they restart as getting bad now.
