At least we’ve had a blue print for how to react, and when to reintroduce local lock down controls. It’s been in place since June 2020.

Will they stick to this? People are already calling for another lockdown.

It's interesting going by that framework, we should have had full lock down for one day back in April.

Ermm, it post dates April.

Of course, everything is under constant review, but having these pathways enables the noise from the Karens and Cassandras, busy waving pitchforks, or knitting, to be tuned out.

Yeah, I should have said if we get the same amount of cases again.

I was trying to figure out what it was about Dr Glover that our esteemed leaders didn't want to embrace. Reading Twitter this morning she seems to have shown a trait they are incapable of understanding, she has gone over the top and given some common sense advice. Common sense to CoMin is like garlic to a vampire !!

They major in Political games, obfuscation and ass covering, common sense ain't on the CV.

If the incumbents stopped playing at politics, and just got on with the job, Manx politics would be the best in the world.

It’s too late now. Too late to turn the tide. They are too entrenched in the positions that they’ve created for themselves. The closest they got was having their faces on a swimsuit. It’s going to take a lot more than that to turn it around this time.

A woman posted last night, “ just tell us the truth - we can handle it.”  This is where we’re at. The trust has gone.

I agree there are too many skeletons for the current incumbents to change tack now ! Next election we need better politics or agreeing with Derek we need less politics and more island focused administration ! The old boys club is still clinging on and as toxic as ever, next election we need to get rid of the club altogether !!

It's a great expectation to believe that elections on this Island can make any real difference to the parochial, 'parish-pump' standard of politics which exists with impunity. Manxies are just too docile, supine, and have little real interest in who or what best represents them. This is exemplified by the fact that useless, vacuous nobodies with a poor, ineffectual political presence continue to be re-elected, year on year. It is a product of blind compliance and gutless acceptance of the status quo and the notion that voting, historically, has virtually no effect on outcomes so who can blame them?

Because of course the COVID issue has now gone on long enough for ‘Howie’ and ‘Ashy’ to be discerned as the talentless, self-regarding, pompous fools that they are. Even those early press briefings shone a light on Quayle’s ignorance and lack of intellectual rigour. Neither individual has the political skill or brainpower to effectively manage this issue. They’re not clever enough; they cannot communicate adequately, especially Quayle who performs like a ‘speak your weight’ machine; they aren’t politically nimble or mentally quick-thinking. They are however representative of our extremely poor quality government. Think very hard when in the polling booth come September.
