Not an auspicious start! Judging by what happened yesterday at Newlands, things won’t improve. Similar problem. Over 80’s queuing outside for an hour, problems parking cars. Obviously need to invest in a large digital clock as used in vaccination centres in the UK, to ensure appointments are on time! The Villa Marina could have accommodated half the Island queueing inside. Edited January 28, 2021 by Barlow
Rhumsaa
no idea how true this is but read on Facebook someone saying that one of the issues with queuing was people arriving very early for appointments?

Classic IOM old person behaviour apart from standing in M&S doorway one thing you can guarantee is the “we’ll go early to make sure we get a park” line

Yes as it’s mainly elderly and older folk, a generation who know how to turn up - perhaps some logic and expectations that older people may arrive well before their allocated time. Sounds to me so far as the words ‘piss up’ and ‘brewery’ come to mind. Not a good show Ashy!

Think that’s what has happened as my mum was there this morning and some in queue were there 20 minutes early, should have been removed from queue. Rhumsaa
if you're having to take public transport you're of course limited by your arrival options 5

I can’t see the problem with turning up early. Perhaps some initiative should be used if people turn up early. Perhaps start innoculations earlier to accommodate the early arrivals. If someone has an appointment at 10 and turns up at 9:50 they shouldn't have to wait longer because someone with an 10:30 appointment turned up at 9:30.
MadAsHell
What's the plan then for arrivals? Do they just walk past the queue on their way to self isolation?

Problem is that they don’t know when they will turn up , Mum said 2 had got same 10.10 bus for 11.05 & 11.10 appointments so got there c 10.35 and joined queue ,get several doing this and you can see where queues come. Also some very elderly were very shaky & on verge of falling but they were telling others don’t help as not allowed to touch them due to COVID
