Which part of John's post is wrong then?  Are you a biochemist?

Yes.

He called it a trial. Its pedantics and speaking literally - but the official trials finish when the vaccine is offered for approval by the developer. Its 'on trial' unofficially speaking, forever or until we lose interest.

I think John is both right and wrong. There is no ongoing 'trial' as you correctly state. However, what does go on forever is learning and experience as well as (most importantly) the analysis of longer term data. Perhaps this is what he meant.

But in this case the approval is provisional and trials are ongoing. In multiple jurisdictions.

And no, I’m not a biochemists, but it’s lawyers who have ended up keeping developers of medicines and vaccines out of trouble by examining the protocols for trials and the grounds for approval after biochemists and regulators screwed it up.

Another 1,111 jabbed today. Smasing it now.

Given the UK will he starting to see a slowdown due to second doses anytime now if we keep this up we will be overtaking them soon enough.

Is that an estimated figure? Will they revise that to 16 later tonight?

Yes it’s only first dose but still very impressive by UK

88.9% of over-60s have had their first COVID vaccine dose

Latest figures also show that around one in five people (21.8%) aged 16 to 59 have now had a first dose.

The estimates show little variation between regions, ranging from 19.3% in London to 24.2% in north west England.

For the over-60s, regional estimates range from 81.7% for London to 91.2% for the Midlands.
