Having searched around on different research sites it seems that opinions on the risks of fomite transmission are much varied. Various environmental factors are involved and up for consideration. WHO guidelines appear to indicate the risk is low whereas some sites give on opinion that this is one vector that is considerably overlooked.

It was 1003 last Saturday, but the last update of the numbers sometimes doesn't come in till after 7, so this may still go up.

Fair enough - I was going by the dashboard and I've been caught out a few times before.  They may work later on weekdays because of people needing post-work times.

I'd imagine that given how many people unconsciously stick the end of a pen in their mouth while thinking, communal pens are a very likely source of infection. Clipboards, not so much.

Sticking the pen in your mouth isn't likely to be an issue. In your nose, that's a different matter.

Can you register online when it’s your group’s turn or do you actually need the information in the letter to do so?

How honest, or dishonest, are you?

There isn’t a personal identifier number on the letter that you have to use to register.

Your details DOB, Post Code  will be checked by 111 to check that you are in the eligible group, if not no call back. Even if you managed to wing it, your NHS number is checked at the vaccination reception to confirm that you are who you are and eligible.
