Unless someone else has mentioned it further up the thread I was told earlier today that the vaccine program for IOM will start January 4th 2021.

Ashie said next week as long as indemnity acceptable and decision would be made yesterday  but as mentioned heard nothing more and not sure what he can do if paperwork not acceptable. Most health services have just cracked on  and vaccinated

Also still unsure why we will take to September to vaccinate over 50s when most major European countries are looking to have majority of population done by summer.the below is from main Spanish news paper

It is expected that 60% of Spain’s population of 47 million will be vaccinated by August

Because they probably have scores, if not hundreds of thousands of qualified staff to administer the injections. How many has the Island? Plus, the process

has to be carried out in tranches, with 2 doses of the same batch of vaccine given to each tranche.

Have they? Where've you gotten this from, or is it just your opinion?

Surely Spain only has, pro rata, the same numbers of qualified staff as we do. So why don't we have such an ambitious target.

Well, it has to defrost and thaw from its unshakeable and stable state (take notice, Ashford D.) before dilution and administration. And thawing really needs to be done in a refrigerator, slowly. Vaccine thawed at room temperature is good for 30 minutes only.

Slow and steady comes to mind.

Spain hasn’t started yet.

Availability of vaccine may be the determinant at this stage, but as production ramps up and other vaccines are approved that should be less of a determining factor.

Spain has similar  age distribution. 19.65% over 65. IOM is 19.9%.

Spain had 13,000 vaccination centres ready by 24/11, we are starting to prepare ours now.

The military will be helping out at vaccination centres, IOM doesn’t have that back up.
