Vaccine- who will have it?

Actually that may not be true.  Depending in which priority group someone is in, reducing the gap between doses would mean that those in groups with higher priority would be fully vaccinated earlier.  But it would also mean those in lower priority groups wouldn't have received any vaccinations at all.  The total number of doses has to remain the same.

Agreed. However, the phase one graph between the groups is nearly a parabolic curve. The lower the group number, the higher the risk. Most over 70s will have been double jabbed by the time the vaccination hubs take their two week holiday. But, there are a shed load of over 60s and clinically vulnerable whom are still waiting for their second dose, as IOMG race to get the borders open, probably for the aforementioned two week jolly.

Over 65s getting done this week & all clinically vulnerable have been done unless missed off original lists.

However they should be doing anyone over 50 who wants second jab early next 2 weeks on first come basis

That's true. Its a conundrum I'll agree

But consider that a 59 year old with only jab will then be less protected than a 21 year old that has also only had one jab because the 59 year old had his 8 weeks ago and the 21 year old just had theirs

That's not right given that the 59 year has a 10 times more likelihood of dying already now further multiplied because the effect of the first jab will have worn off

With that in mind they should not be giving anyone under 40 any jabs and focusing on second jabs for those over 50. IMO!

All made further worse by the fact that we have 10,000's vaccines in stock and no bugger is getting any for 2 weeks.

This is wrong.  Someone (of any age) who has just had their first jab will be less protected than someone who had it several weeks ago - it takes two to three weeks for it to provide much protection.  This report for example say "one dose gave 46% protection after two weeks, rising to 67% after three to six weeks".

The real query is just how long a single dose will continue to provide the more limited protection it does.  There was some indication of a fall-off towards 12 weeks in trial data I looked at, but it was difficult to be conclusive.  But we don't really know how much it would take for it to wear off.

They aren't giving anyone of under 40 vaccinations at the moment (with the usual tiny number of exceptions) and they warned this would be the case several weeks ago.

And there aren't tens of thousands of doses in stock either - probably not much over 10,0000 after this week's second doses.  And if there were only about 3500 delivered last week as John suggested earlier those may have to be kept back given the number of second doses that are due.

I’m wondering if the 10,000 error on the dashboard is Moderna? Perhaps they will only include it officially when the paper work is signed off?

We've now got 12,500 doses at close today  and only 2300 booked in next 7 days.

All gone quiet on vaccine passports, Gove saying today that possibility they maybe needed for premiership football, large music events etc so full capacity can be used.

When are we going to get them as many including me want to travel abroad and attend football & music events this year.

Moderna starting 14 June , not sure why they can’t start next week

Unfortunately it’s not a question of wanting but a necessity unless you want to stay in IOM for next few years which is probably want some saddos want

It's not a necessity. It's an unnecessary imposition and unfortunately idiots willing to accept them early run the risk of making the become a thing.

The 'saddos' are those that willingly accept this bullshit.

You will have no option if you wish to travel or go to football in next few year  . It’s reality and only idiots will not accept reality

Don't understand the lack of political pressure in regard to the two week vaccine break.  It really is a tremendous own goal just as travel restrictions are eased.  If anything they should be increasing with available stock.  Ashford and Quayle should be put on the spot re this and the late roll out of Moderna.  I can not think of any valid reason to just stop for two weeks.
