So the first lady to have it in the UK had her 3 week booster today. In the meantime our vaccines are sat in the freezer still. What a slack carry on. A scandal in indifference and incompetence. Banker
The delay in delivering vaccinations here have been caused by Ashie insisting that all paperwork was checked by AGs office whilst others including Guernsey who Ashie normally copies were cracking on. A lot of our front line medical & care home staff could & should have been vaccinated by now

The medics here keep telling us it is when, not if, it returns. Yet all the while we exist on our isolated Isle waiting. When it does some people will die who would have lived. The Island should really close the borders, apply full Tier 5 rules to freight and sit it out. Anyone who comes over in a private plane / helicopter should be locked up for a long, long time.
Banker
Will IOM & UK do the same? Keep list of those refusing vaccinations https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-55471282
the stinking enigma
Refuse is quite a strong word. I prefer to think of it as letting others go first, in a chivalrous sense. 1

How significant is that in a 6 month programme to vaccinate health workers, the old and vulnerable. * don’t forget to deduct Xmas and New Year holidays when none would be administered anyway. That'll be 2 weeks then.

He’s just not very good at making decisions So according to what he said in the briefings, they can order and access one tray per week of vaccine. In order to ensure absolute consistency, they are ensuring that consecutive batch numbers match, to ensure that each person's second dose is from the same batch as the first. So, by next week, we will have enough vaccine to inoculate nearly 2000 people, twice. The program will then run at great pace to get as many vaccinated as possible. I expect at least 3000 to be vaccinated by the end of January. It is alright John Wright talking about 50-100 a day, but it has to be 975 times two in five days or else vaccine will be wasted. WHO will not have that!!!

WHO will not have that!!! This isn't the favoured approach globally anymore. Look at what Canada is doing and the UK is said to look at doing instead now. It's getting as many people as possible the first vaccination which - in its own right - provides 90% efficacy. But naturally we will laud ourselves over having the 'gold standard' whilst Ashford's tugging Howie off in the back room.
madmanxpilot
Good news that the Oxford/AZ vaccine has been given the green light this morning. Also, eminently sensible to increase the minimum gap between jabs to three months so that protection can be given to as many as quickly as possible - let's hope that IOMG's vaccination programme can easily adapt to this development!
