TheTeapot
Excellent. That's one of my protest votes sorted. 1
Roger Mexico
Only 30% of those voting last time chose Cregeen[1], but he still got in, so HM's presumably chosen it as the constituency you are most likely to get elected by accident in. Which may be true, due to its odd tripartite nature. [1] Amazingly this wasn't the worst performance among MHKs - Robertshaw only got 28.5%. 1
asitis
FFS , mind you, I guess a raving looney does have the edge over Cregeen, Moorhouse and Gawne !

Robertshaw 15.7% of the vote, and he slipped in by 7 votes over Jon Joughin.

To be honest HM Sole is less insane than Phil Gawne and he’s pretty insane. Didn’t Sole stand in Douglas last time? Now Arbory. Does he live in some sort of levitating space ship than can be in any Sheading?
TheTeapot
I see him in Castletown reasonably often, so he might live down this way. See him more often than Cregeen anyway.

Robertshaw got 487 votes from 1,705 people who voted = 28.61% However, people have two votes so got 487 out of the 3,106 votes cast = 15.67% But he could only ever have received 50% of that vote. So Manx Radio are being typically misleading by putting that figure up there. What's most damning is most people chose not to vote for any of the dreadful candidates in that constituency - so of the 4,251 Douglas East voters he only got 11.45% to vote for him. 1

Moorhouse tends to concentrate on Castletown, Cregeen on Ballasalla; Gawne (last time[1]) in Ballabeg/Arbory. In terms of number of voters Castletown's a bit bigger than Ballasalla, which is a bit bigger than Ballabeg and that's how the result came out. Obviously someone with any nous would work hard in all three areas. There's not much sign of such a mythical creature. [1] If he stands this year, he'll probably stand in Rushen where there will probably be at least one vacancy.

It's up to the voters to decide that living three miles away means you aren't up for the job. 2

It just seems an odd choice for someone who doesn’t live in the South as it’s a voter base that is focussed in very local issues. Difficult if you don’t live there I’d have thought.

In all honesty many of the Douglas experts live in Braddan.
