I note that the Scouts Association has been part of the consultation. Does this mean that the TT will have a digital scoreboard with with scouts running around on it putting times up in a totally pointless exercise? I do hope not. This is when heritage turns into stupid.

As with everything it’s a PR exercise, lip service. Keep everyone happy otherwise twitter meltdowns and IOMNP uproars. No sense of priorities, proportionality or common sense. Do the Scouts get a medal or a badge from the ACU to sew on their uniforms? Times have changed the IOM hasn’t, Scouts shouldn’t be used as Ashies and Callisters free labour.

Anyone know the costs of the new TT live service?  Paul Philips said it cost a lot.....200 strong production team from greenlight plus a the app development and Vimeo hosting.  Sounds like a 10 million+ operation.

Let's say they can do it for 5 million.  333,333 signups required at £14.99 to break even.  Not including what's already been spent

So they havent priced it up yet, is that what they're saying?

So what are we saying? Higher or lower than a million quid?

Well over a million. And I can bet you another million, that the scoreboard will be somehow not weather proof and after one year left in situ, it'll be knackered. See those stupid walk/cycle monitors they had on the prom.

Some cringey comments in that link:

BSN: “This is an amazingly ambitious programme, more than any other except the Olympic Games, and it is inevitable that mistakes will be made .The buggeration factor must be quite high because this is the first time you have done it. Who is the poor sucker who has got to pull all this together apart from you Paul?”

Phillips: “I am very accountable for the project. It is my project.

They have done a good job getting the press to jump up and down about it being live as if its the first ever live sports event.

NW200 was streamed live on BBC website 15 years ago and was available on red button for just as long. Its nothing new at at all, its low hanging fruit in this day and age.

30 years.  The only way they could achieve that is to buy 5 and keep them in storage for when one breaks because you won’t be ordering spares in 20 years.

It's simple...like the NSC flumes. It will take 29 years for the scoreboard to be erected, work for 1 year while a few people get injured, then take it out of service.

30 years. Job done.

Hopefully was used again also a fair wind, does not add to a positive result.   Another expensive toy😏 however it is drawing attention away from the low number of home stay accommodation, unhappy Marshalls and the need to get the course in good order.   The only bright light on the horizon is that f…..g fair is not coming.

Meanwhile the EGM of 'Isle of Man TTMA ltd ' has been adjourned and no date set however the new "TTMA ltd" have  already "acquired" the details of marshals from the' Isle of Man TTMA ltd' and sent an email to all the marshals today giving them until 11/3/22 to ask them to delete said details .

It may be interesting to see how this is viewed by marshals who previously had a right to be a "member" of a TTMA and now  had that right removed as there are only 2 members permitted and if they choose to marshal have to abide by the ACU's 'code of practice requiring them to adopt /endorse / applaud the opinions of the ACU/Paul Phillips .

Failure to do so will result in being sacked without being told the reason and with no right of appeal ( according to the M & A's ).

Funny old world:flowers:

Email in full below.  It will be interesting to see how many confirm their details.  I’m not

TTMA Limited Privacy Policy

Dear Sir/Madam,

We, TTMA Limited, have recently acquired your personal data from the database previously held by Isle of Man TT Marshals’ Association Limited.   TTMA Limited has now taken over the obligations of that company in respect of the training and provision of marshals for events to be held on the Isle of Man TT course.

As we did not receive your personal data directly from you, data protection law requires us to provide certain information to you, including what we intend to do with your data, and what your rights are in relation to your personal data.   We have set out this information in our privacy policy which you can review on our website at https://www.iomttmarshals.com/legal/privacy-policy . Please note that we will only use your data for the same purposes for which it was originally collected by the Isle of Man TT Marshals Association Limited – this will remain unchanged.

However, in the event that you do not wish us to continue holding your personal data and do not want to receive information from us relating to the IOM TT Marshals, please let us know by emailing us at Office@iomttmarshals.com by Friday 11th March 2022 and we will delete your data from our records.

Yours faithfully,

TTMA Limited

The COC was overheard to say at the EGM on 2/3/22 that they had more than sufficient marshals on the mountain which surprised me but to contradict the man  would scupper the chances of one enjoying the bracing rain mist and cold until after 11.00 pm (on occasions) on sector 9/10. Just saying :flowers:

Everyone’s accountable. Except nobody takes the honourable step and either resigns or is sacked. Let’s face it, most of the CS are unaccountable and are unsackable.

£2 to get into the TT village in the villa this year.   Flip that right off.  I’ll be buying from Tesco this year.

Why? It’s £2.  So you’ll forego all entertainment provided for the price of a cup of tea so you can buy from tesco and sit at home alone.
