A bit of bollox there Boris, we don't have anything like the traffic density of much of the UK, nor the enclosed spaces.

Despite not having the emission testing capabilities, which we may now have at the new testing station, cars have been pretty much self regulating for about twenty years as far as emissions are concerned. There will be some going around which are faulty but not to the extent that we are a toxic hell.

I don't know of anywhere where you can taste the toxicity of exhaust fumes like you can in some urban areas in the UK?

It’s definitely not bollocks, air quality is more than just vehicle emissions, log burners/open fires and oil boilers are all sources of particulate matter and we have more than our fair share here. Quite a few companies burn their rubbish (including plastic) on bonfires, that’s a massive fine if caught on its own in the UK. As for actual vehicle emissions any vehicle with a DPF fitted shouldn’t emit any black smoke whatsoever, it’s an instant MOT fail (unless you know a friendly tester of course.....) I’d wager the vast majority of bikes over the next two weeks will have a decat fitted too.

Toxicity wise, you don’t have to smell particulate matter for it to be dangerous, its the stuff you can’t see that does the most damage.

They always bring vehicles over from motorpool in UK every year. I'm sure it will happen this year too. Manx police driving them though .

Correct. UK cars, local officers.

I love the TT but having just come over the mountain to get to work I can say I won’t be going near it again for a couple of weeks.

The police really need to crack down on people who ride (and drive) recklessly up there.

Fast is fine.  Stupidly fast and causing me to slam the anchors on in a fully loaded van is not.

The road is virtually certain to have been closed again by 19:00 tonight.

It’s a fairground ride. Why this isn’t just accepted I don’t know?

Close it, run it one way like the Nurburgring, with demarcated starts and separate car and bike sessions.

There isn't one this year. Not even got around to plans for it yet . The screens are your lot.

Wrong, planning has been approved for the new Scoreboard, they just need to find the money to build it now.

That sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Are the screens just to show pictures of Scouts, for the paying clientele?

they're getting hacked and  porn is being shown at the start of the senior race.
