Were people speculating on the sick/dead in [the Covid] thread before the families had been told and official announcements made?

Well given how much we now know of how the official announcements then were deliberately misleading or dishonest, perhaps that's not the best argument for waiting for one now.  But in any case no one, here at least, has been speculating about the identities of any possible casualties or other specific details.

The Marshals Association has put out an appeal for marshals for tomorrow. This will be interesting as to whether there will be enough marshals.

i wonder what will happen next year with the senior scheduled for the saturday ???  i'm not sure why the powers that be suddenly thought that marshals could hang around an extra day in a years time.  people dont want to travel saturday night sunday morning and have to get up for work on monday

One here who might be able to help, if they let him out for the day...

Why do you call Gary Thompson ‘the so called Clerk of the Course?’  He IS the Clerk of the Course and he is employed by the ACU, not the Motorsports Team

https://www.acu.org.uk/About-The-ACU.aspx

I would suggest that you have absolutely no idea how complicated and difficult the role is and you wouldn’t be able to step into Gary’s shoes in a million years.

Thank you for your input. It's useful when researching upcoming FOI requests to establish the true (financial) cost of the TT.

I have no interested in filling his so-called shoes.

It’s tough.

The people in the VIP suite on Monday at £400 a pop got turfed out at 5pm so didn’t get to see the delayed race that ran in the evening.  There are no refunds if no racing

Pay stupid prices, get stupid prizes.

The pursuit of money has no such considerations. And that's what it is.

The TT is being pushed and promoted ever harder and further in the name of profits and Govt revenue. Those involved will milk it and milk it for all that it's worth. Profits and Govt salaries and pensions in particular.

But think ahead a little. After they've pushed it to wherever it goes and had their fill, what happens then? What is left?

We coming towards the end of what must be the most commercialised TT ever. There is also a considerable price to be paid in grief. Maybe, just maybe it's been pushed too far already. Sponsors may not wish to be associated with this level of carnage, I certainly don't.

And most definitely not for the reasons that it's happening.

HA HA😁 Best of luck with that! The Dfe do not know what it costs to run, do you really expect an honest answer? You have not got a snowballs chance in  hell. When all the bills for Government workers overtime come at end of the month the GMP would be absolutely stunned. If you really want the truth on cost's ask for a breakdown of overtime from Friday 27 through to Monday 13 June on all staff Police/DOI/DEFA DHSC then you will have an idea of how much profit IOM Gov make😁

Let’s see what happens after the event. I was talking to a few traders at the grandstand who paid significant amounts for pitches who don’t seem to think it’s been worth it either. I wonder how many £5,500 Bremont TT watches Dunwells shifted from their VIP executive zone? Many in government seem to have completely deluded themselves that this is the Monaco GP or Goodwood. Add the deaths they’re trying manage the publicity around into the mix and it’s got government incompetence written all over it.

After the bill for the Prom, the Liverpool Terminal and the NSC there is absolutely nothing that could stun me anymore.

Politicians and their civil servants have fucked over a great many aspects of this Island with their "ambitions", we can all count them.

Consider that they might now have their teeth into the TT....
