They should have taken more time to advertise the closures especially as people aren’t used to the new format. To be honest it seems to happen every GP. People seem to pay attention to the TT closures but not GP. There is always at least one day where Douglas seems to get completely gridlocked. Up until the introduction of classic races in 1984 it was a two day race programme with only three races. In fact there were only two races in the programme up until 1964.
Omobono
But there were at least 125 entries in the races then and the boys managed to do up to 25 laps of practice there was a motorcycle trial on the same week the town was full of motorcycle enthusiasts quite different from the TT visitors more the purist , and also time to spend going round the various towns helping the retail and hospitality sector to survive , the Manx could still be a massive boost for tourism ,but alas I think someone has an agenda to price the running of it into the ground , as an excuse to curtail activities , but beware the dumbing down to limited entries demise and possible cancelling of the Manx Grand prix , will sound the death nell of the TT, and road racing in the Isle of Man ,

Mr Helmut Fromage
Not in the least bit surprising - but Max will be here to defend / deflect the blame from those involved in yet another fuck up. I'm leaning to his opening response possibly including "you should wait until the facts are known" or "they were following standard operating procedures"
doc.fixit
I was surprised today talking to a few shopkeepers in Peel. All of them recounted tales of disgruntled overseas bikers who only found out about the re-hashed MGP plans when they got here.

Did the rider involved ignore the yellow flags? They were escorted by TMs at a sensible speed. Anyway, a good story for the idiots! 1
The Phantom
For the sake of not opening up a new thread: The road closure on the mountain and marine drive looks like an ad for a (fittingly) new Audi TT. I was praying for it to be one of the new e-trons, which are frankly incredible.

Audi did the same in 2019 The island gets a lot of good PR and interest from the races in lots of ways that many people don’t seem to appreciate https://youtu.be/duB6CHL0fOg Edited September 7, 2022 by Asthehills 1

A whole 2,245 views in three and a half years. That'll be worth at least £50 million in DfE money. 1

And extra comments have been made since the above was posted.
