So many are complaining takings are down after the shorter MGP. I seem to recall a lot of people saying they thought numbers were down being told they were wrong. Asthehills
Maybe it’s time to look at ways of improving the visitor/spectator experience? This would do it. I would definitely pay to do a lap in a bus while the circuit was live. https://youtu.be/ksSHVhD3nRY

Dirty Buggane
Of course not, did any body expect them to. And as for that prick Hooper in the job matter of weeks sounding like he has been there six months and knew what he was talking about, he don't know what a whipping boy he is. So starts the death knell, obvious they have took no notice of the fuck up this year.
Dirty Buggane
My only surprise is they can not see if they made it easier and a dam sight cheaper on the boats they could flood the island with people drinking eating and staying here. How about £30 return day trip get here hop on to our modern fleet of mini buses to various vantage points around the course. Going to have to eat and drink whilst they are on island, then takings at the bar on return journey through the roof. But no, £130 foot passenger return. Lets sail with the boats empty. Just ranting 🤡

Just ranting 🤡 Said it numerous times before, even if you reduced the fare to a £30 weekend return for foot-passengers the figures would only rise marginally. But at the same time, doing-so might have a 'loss-leader' effect by raising the profile and awareness of the Island and its somewhat un-spoilt beauty. A one-month pre and post-season offer. I started writing a book on endemic cynicism in the Isle of Man but quickly decided it'd never be popular...

However when over 70% stated no and they still crack on... locals are being right fucked over by this.. bet Moorhen is already drafting his Southern 100 / post TT questions - Hooperman won't be so smug then

2112
As reported on the NPM the 2023 Post TT Races have been scrapped, and the pre TT Classic races will go ahead but will be revised ……………… and no doubt scrapped in 2024.
Dirty Buggane
No one could fuck up the TT formula. Oh hold that thought, by trying to make more money they fuck up the last tourism the Isle Of Man had.

The trouble is that loads more bikers would just pile their bikes into a van and buy two cheap weekend return tickets, not using the other half. A lot do the van thing anyway, so you'd just be giving a further passenger discount to those people and encouraging more to pull the same trick. And clogging the boat up with a lot of 'ghost' passengers. And where would all these people stay? The only spare capacity in creating more temporary campsites which will probably insist on people paying for at least a week. The trouble with the strategy that the DfE is trying to impose for MGP and now TT is that (at best) it increases visitor numbers, but it doesn't increase total visitor spend, except on travel. In fact it may actually reduce it.
0bserver
Why would they make the ferry cheap? The event sells out. If it's going to cause disruption the fuckers can at least pay into the coffers.

Just a 4-week periods in the months before and after the official holiday season. As Roger says above, it would probably end up obstaclised by pettiness and unpreparedness.
