But the point is it is meant to be a snapshot. Unless everyone completes it on the same night it is never going to be completely accurate. Pretty basic and obvious really. Joseph, Mary and Jesus had to be in a certain place at a certain time to be counted. The Isle of Man seems to have gone backwards since then. Luke's gospel invented this nonsense to make the story fit an earlier prophecy. The Romans were not that dumb.

AlanShimmin
Ray Harmer will be saying it's a great success and the site errors are due to it being more popular than expected.

But whoever wrote lukes gospel had at least heard of a census, so they did exist.

If a farmer wants to count his sheep he does it in one go, not in bits over a period of weeks.

2bees
No problems today - job done Like on job applications, I don't understand the need to ask about religion, marital status nor sexual orientation/identity.

You wait, we have HRH The Chief Minister, hangers on, flunkies and civil servants reminding us that the island is a real technology nerve centre. It was only a couple of years ago that industry leading lights wanted to buy the Nunnery to create a super university for IT. The island was desperate for island IT experts etc etc etc ……… In the real world 2021, Government IT has made such a mess of things, coupled with the post office, who seem like they are in constant dispute with Government. The post office inherited a lot of business from Government when the Government closed their Reprographics department at Government Offices (now the canteen!). Government (Harmer etc) haven’t thought things through, they thought that they could blind everyone with bullshit, threaten, bully and punish everyone with fines for non completion and then what will happen is everyone will be blamed, because of Governments overall incompetence. Looks like Promotions all round.
wrighty
Well this is rubbish. I think it’s safe to say the stats generated will be of a similar quality as many just won’t bother.

Anything that is not filled in what they consider correctly put's an error sign up which doesn't always indicate what the fault is. The instructions are vague as well such as having to put yes or no to qualifications for example. If one ticks yes to the qualifications one has why put no to the ones you don't have.....weird imo. I was caught out by the more than 1 GCSE and the more than 5 questions. If you have more than 5 the answer is yes to both.
