finlo
Just now, WTF said: if they fly overhead and declare an emergency that will magically fix itself once on the ground will they be able to land here ? Or they could do what everyone else does and go to Andreas international.

TheTeapot
There's always loads of little planes at TT, like loads. What are they playing at? That seems crazy.

Non-Believer
I remember a few years ago after a last race a helicopter set down in the field opposite the Ginger Hall. A number of imbibed bodies came out of the Ginger, crossed the reopened roads, climbed the steel fence into the field, boarded and the chopper took off and disappeared into the skies.....

Did they then go to the Sulby glen or the Swan?
Derek Flint
The Grand Island used to host six or seven helicopters every year. Made the place look quite upmarket
Guest
In the mid 90s on race days the whole of the south side of the airfield used to be full of parked light aircraft. There was a constant stream of arrivals from the time the airport opened in the morning. Great times so what has gone wrong ?

Lack of planning, organisation, training but most of all safety critical personnel. Unfortunately as Asitis said, reaping the harvest of what has been sowed since 2005. 1

Your right with a marked increase for senior race day when the airport would be rammed. We also had the red arrows lined up too .
