ah yes, the dodgy cargo distribution centre for the northern hemisphere.  it would be cheaper to fly commercially than fix your plane after using that runway.

I remember a few years ago after a last race a helicopter set down in the field opposite the Ginger Hall. A number of imbibed bodies came out of the Ginger, crossed the reopened roads, climbed the steel fence into the field, boarded and the chopper took off and disappeared into the skies.....

Did they then go to the Sulby glen or the Swan?

In the mid 90s on race days the whole of the south side of the airfield used to be full of parked light aircraft.  There was a constant stream of arrivals from the time the airport opened in the morning.  Great times so what has gone wrong ?

Lack of planning, organisation, training but most of all safety critical personnel. Unfortunately as Asitis said, reaping the harvest of what has been sowed since 2005.

Your right with a marked increase for senior race day when the airport would be rammed. We also had the red arrows lined up too .
