piebaps
Travelled through Ronaldsway this weekend to Dublin & back. Security were smiling and jovial and because there weren't three EZYs going at roughly the same time, we were through real quick. Dublin was busier on the return but we were through security screening in under ten minutes. Flight was delayed half an hour or so and the pilot explained this was due to staffing problems at Dublin Airport. Parking at IOM side was a bit of a free for all but other than that, a stress free trouble free trip. Can't grumble about anything really, which is frankly a little disappointing. If this one sentence doesn't sum up the entirely of Manx Forums then I don't know what else will!

You clearly like profligacy, incompetence and putting up with poor services, despite having a monstrous civil service and political bill ! I worked hard all my life to pay taxes, and don't enjoy seeing utter wasters, wasting it !

Amadeus
Wow, just wow. The incompetence at that place clearly knows no bounds. Or knew, as this would have been past management. Let’s hope the new director has a minimum of competence in anything. https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/doi-minister-really-upset-over-airport-parking-situation/

Oh, boo hoo. Somebody needs to tell the man he's the Minister in charge and that comes with the non-optional responsibility of getting a grip of his f@cking Department (which he stated he wanted to do when asking for the position, IIRC). That could include finding out who ordered internal barriers rather than external and subjecting them to some sort of Departmental disciplinary process given the expense and losses that this farce has incurred. It is nothing to do with the barriers..more about the fact the payment terminals can’t accept the new English pound coins I was told. Looks like Dim Tim has been fed a crock by his managers. 2

littlebushy
Loving the specifics of his information! Tim Crookall has told Manx Radio someone visited the Island last week to start the rollout of a new system:

Should they be offering a cash option anyway?. If necessary have a £5 or £10 minimum charge for cash payments at a machine located in the terminal, people will soon manage to use contactless. Having said that I bet the app will be like the NHS and Everbridge apps and not be available in the IOM on Android.
doc.fixit
I'm ok with contactless but why an app? Is it another unnecessary complication? 1
