Their automated computer systems AND their printed manuals in every casino have our old style passports still. Was there earlier this year and accused of forging the damn thing, whilst the security guy was busy telling me about his mate who has a few businesses in the Isle of Man for efficiency reasons. Lots of places issue a residency ID card that's linked to your passport and contains a photo and biometric info that solves the problem. Omobono Posted August 11, 2022 Share Posted August 11, 2022 I see the government are having trouble finding out how many people are living here , perhaps we could kill several birds with one stone and have government issue a residency ID card , no point in having a Census every 10 years and incidentally , we are still waiting for some of the results from the last one ! the driving licences are a joke because they no longer have an an address printed on them and therefore not proof of identity or residency in the isle of Man if everyone entitled to live here had a card similar to that issued by several other countries it could solve many problems and the data could be updated on a regular basis , and accessed by agreement from various other countries ,police immigration customs etc , we are so far behind in areas like this , 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What shocked me most this time around was that even UK border force didn’t seem to know, or at least the guy on the desk didn’t. His supervisor knew.
