Probably contracted Jez & Annie Consulting to help him in how to run an airport, given he doesn't actually have any experience in doing just that.

[insert witty comment that may get an angry letter sent to us here]

Well, Gary Cobb is shown as being there now on his Linkedin profile.

Almost a month in and not a word from him, the department or ANYONE.

What would you like him to say?

Sounds a bit like the Doomers when they wanted a covid press conference for the sake of one.

Spot on @Observer - guy has been in less than month. Let him get set up, see the situation through his own eyes and know what tools he fully has compared to maybe what was promised.

If he had come in guns blazing I can almost guarantee we would be hearing all moaners going on about it also.

Sometimes you can't win with people.

Seeing as the Government is desperate to ring the ‘everything’s OK’ come and live here bell at every available opportunity- it would be nice if he, or the Government could just confirm that the job has now been taken over, and things were being looked at regarding being able to use the fucking airport rather than keep going in the entrance and come out exit every time you want to fly.

IoM Gov Press Announcement - Man starts job.

Here is the info from May, no other announcement or anything else is needed, no changes so why waste time - https://www.gov.im/news/2022/may/23/airport-director-will-take-up-role-in-august/#:~:text=Gary Cobb has been appointed,Islands Airports Limited (HIAL).

Mr Cobb moved to the Island to take up his new role mid-August, as previously announced and mentioned. Media interaction scheduled for mid-September, including about airport and air services matters.

Hopefully we will also get an update on the Heathrow and London City flights as Loganair have already announced their summer 2023 program and neither of these destinations are currently available beyond March next year. According to my direct question to them the "London flights are under review at the moment".

Does that translate to : "we are waiting to see how much more we can squeeze out of those suckers in the Isle of Man Government"?

@Chris Thomas is it true that Ronaldsway is going to be closed on Sunday 27th November, with no scheduled flights in or out, so some sort of training/simulation exercise can take place? Just asking as it is impossible to book flights on that date, and this the explanation which Loganair are giving .

If it is true, and suspect it is, do other airports do this? I don’t recall hearing of  Heathrow or Gatwick closing, and losing revenue, so they can pretend there’s been some sort of accident. Has Ronaldsway ever been closed in such circumstances before?

From customer service, economic and reputational points of view, is this a sensible thing to be doing as the Airport struggles to regain lost traffic, passengers and credibility?

I know it may be argued that ‘safety’ trumps everything, but where is the balance and common sense here?!

Quite right. What of value can he say when he hasn't even had a look at what he has let himself in for yet?
