finlo
I noticed on the news the other night that UK aid workers arriving in the earthquake zone were getting off Flybe planes.
snowman
Looks like Loganair have got a ATR gone tech https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/g-lmte Looks like they've got an A320 as a replacement https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/g-powm
WTF
yes, it looks like it looks like something that it looks like.
Amadeus
Arrival last night was better. Despite two flights arriving at the same time, bags were delivered in around 15 minutes. The lack of consistency in service levels is the problem there.

It's solutions like this - and lack of operational resilience I've talked of in the past - that killed Citywing and Flybe v2. Chartering in a Titan A320 won't be cheap by any means. Still at least Loganair are profitable I seem to remember it was not long ago you wanted Flybe back here . Thank goodness that never happened or look where the island would be now! It is a shame, because such a niche market did, and still does exist.

My issue was more with DOI contempt of Flybe and hey, looks like Air France-KLM are poised to buy them out of admin. But Flybe v2s financial were killed by aircraft issues being covered by expensive charters. A Greek airline Embraer Jet and other whacky international operators. It bled money. Margins in the industry are so slim. I think I read Loganairs is about 3% in their EOY books?

But chartering in Links Air and then other larger aircraft to cover flights financially ruined them, right? Took them past the point of no return. I cannot recall them chartering in anyone to do any flying for them when Van Air were here - although I stand to be corrected. Van Air was the company who did the flying for Citywing (who as we all know we’re just a ticket seller) - so it may be that once Van Air we’re given the boot, Citywing tried other aircraft operators - but I honestly have no recollection of that fact. They chartered Titan right at the very end it only lasted a few days.
