Visibility causing issues for Aer Lingus, Loganair and easyJet

But it seems to be a different type of visibility issue today, as both Loganair and easyJet (twice) put their wheels on the ground and then pulled out. This suggests approach visibility was acceptable but they may have been landing into low level mist or fog and couldn't see enough to complete the landing. Loganair is having another go, as I type!

ETA he missed it again after getting down to 0 ft.

Good luck to anyone who needs to be in work tomorrow.

No wonder the IOM is full of retirees.

If you work you can't rely upon the public transport

Wouldn’t call flying public transport would you?

Also many stuck in Liverpool /Manchester can get boat from Liverpool or Heysham if needed

Haven’t we been over this before? It’s a worse category now than before, could have better features to allow landing in worse conditions than now etc etc.

The conditions today do seem to be exceptionally bad, or unusual. Two aircraft (one easyJet and one Loganair) actually managed to land, twice, but because they couldn't see anything at ground level they had to abandon their landings and take-off again. I doubt that any improvements to the approach systems would have made any difference.
