I heard the staff are asking him to ask for a £3m foo-foo valve and a £2m long-weight in Tynwald next week.

He'll return with the cash.

its where he gets it from that worries me we are already paying the most expensive vehicle licensing fees anywhere in Europe  and if  we  add the cost per passenger  to use the facilities at the airport   we are front runners again ,  time to overturn the inverted pyramid  and top heavy organisation  that government has become  and free up  some of the money to spend  on services rather than gross inefficiency,  fat cat salaries , big pay offs and final salary pensions  we can no longer afford

What really annoys me is the way that there are lots of retired public servants who are getting a very decent pension that they've paid very little into. Probably some not at all.

Of course this is all funded by the private sector who have paid into a pension scheme. However our pensions are very different from the scribbling servants. Their index linked pensions mean that they got an automatic rise at the rate of inflation - 10.2%. However in the main index linked private pensions are capped at 5%. In other words a pension cut of 5.2%!

Win / Win for the drones...

If people are going to moan about the situation at least have a read of the easyJet website and applicable legislation to get your facts straight

A lot of people descend into panic mode instead of just rationally looking at the options available. I know for some people it might be daunting (elderly, unwell etc.) but it's a time to try and keep as calm as possible - there's always a way, you're not 'stranded'. As Banker points out if you're able to post an epistle on FaceyB you're capable of sorting some travel and accommodation.

But people may not have the credit facilities to do that, and even if they do may not have the confidence that the responsible airline will refund them (and refund them quickly enough) so that they won't be left in financial problems.

There's an awful lot of "Let them eat cake" about some of the remarks on this.

If that scenario is enough to push someone over the cliff edge, they really shouldn't go anywhere until they're able to withstand such an occurrence

If people can't or won't pay out and claim back then there's always the option of sitting in a hotel at the airlines expense and waiting for the next flight where there's a seat.

If you do it on app it’s automatically paid by easyJet so no credit required!

If you wish to transfer to another airline or boat then you need to pay up front

I've had three disrupted flights over the last year with easyJet. Two from LPL and one from LGW. Although re-booking on the App was easy, on each occasion the App could not handle the request for a hotel. On one of the LPL trips, the ground handling agent arranged a hotel, with dinner, (Hampton by Hilton) but on the others we had to find a hotel and pay ourselves. Our expenses were claimed and reimbursed within seven days, which was pretty good.

Agreed I had it last year and just re-booked ASAP in the airport the second the flight showed as cancelled to try to beat anyone else to the few available hotel rooms that were left near Gatwick. But that cost me over £300 for the party we were with but many people can’t afford to do that straight off and luckily I got the money back off EJ eventually but it was months later. If you are skint you're back on the bus messed around for ages waiting for support.
