If EasyJet cannot get you to your destination within 24 hours, you have the right to make your own arrangements and send them the bill.

Alternative transport to my final destination

If your flight has been cancelled, we will try to get you an easyJet flight to your final destination within 24 hours of your original flight.

You can search for available flights and choose which one you want to transfer on to on Manage Bookings.

If there are no easyJet flights available to get you to your destination within 24 hours, you have the option to transfer to another airline, take a train, bus, or hire a car.

The alternative transport must be under comparable transport conditions (e.g. economy or standard fare) to your destination, and you will be entitled to claim reasonable transport costs back. If you need additional support or special assistance, please contact our team.

Please ensure you obtain a detailed itemised receipt. For more information on how to claim back expenses or for further help please refer to our expenses page, alternatively, you can contact us.

Please note that you cannot claim for both a refund for your flight and rerouting on alternative transport.

Seems pretty clear to me?

Thank you.

It's very clear when you explain it like that. It's not so clear at the time though when the child is crying, the other one is stressed, both the wife and I are tired, the battery on the phone is low and clicking on flights just to find a bed for the night brings up zero results for several attempts. It's one of them I guess you'd need to be in that situation at that time.

Sincerely thank you though for explaining. I'm working my way through the next part.

Barry.

Drone activity over LGW, flights starting to divert to STN, LHR, LTN etc.. hopefully won’t affect this evenings IOM that much 🤞🏻

It's cancelled. Looking at the Gatwick departures, it's one of only two easyJet cancellations, so it seems that we got the shitty end of the easyJet stick, yet again.

To be fair it was all caused by drone issues at London Gatwick so little EasyJet can do here especially as this is one of their last flights of the day .

The aircraft due to operate it is about 90 mins behind schedule due to the drone stuff. It'd go past the curfew which they obvs don't want to pay to extend / iom can't accommodate extension today.

Yet again highlights our crap airport services.

Yes, they are now saying it's because of the IOM curfew.

easyJet have needed the extended hours at Ronaldsway four times, in the last six days, so presumably ATC just ran out of options to cover them.

As you can see IOM was fairly high up the table in both years, but not the worst by any means.  The top ten is dominated by the Scottish islands and adjacent which is what you would expect given their weather, the small size of the planes and fairly basic facilities (Barra you literally land on the beach) and there will a knock on from these to the airports that fly to them.  Similarly Alderney will be responsible for some of Guernsey's cancellations.

There are other less obvious ones such as Humberside, which may be affected by its flight mix (a lot of North Sea servicing) and Southampton.  London and Belfast Cities are both dockside, perhaps a factor.  Percentage are up generally between the two years, which may be due to cancellations for commercial reasons.

All figures are taken from Tables 04a on the CAA website.

Good evening. For those of you that might be a little bit interested or better still signed. Here's the latest.

Can I just check I have this right?

Having had your flight cancelled, in order to secure accommodation for your family on the day/ evening of your cancellation you had to agree to take an alternative flight five days hence?
