It’s always more expensive to park nearby the terminal at every airport but the terminology probably need’s changed

Yes, but at other airports we are talking of “near” being much further away than any of ours, and long stay as being a shuttle bus ride away, not an extra 10 metres.

At a proper international airport maybe.

Ronaldsway isn't a big international airport.

And nearly all charge for drop offs most/pick ups £5 for maximum 10 minutes, it’s free for 30 minutes here think that’s about £20 most airports

Jersey is installing scanners today that will mean liquids font have to be removed from hand luggage....

Never going to happen here.

Id MUCH rather have to faff about for a few seconds to pull a bag of liquids out of my luggage then have to worry about flights delays and cancellations due to inadequate runway conditions or there not being enough ATC staff on hand. Priorities!

Agreed some airports charge a fee ,even for a few minutes pick up and /or drop off . But i cannot think of any airport that makes you install an app in order to stop for a few minutes to pick someone up . A credit/debit  card system would make much more sense and at least show that the customers are important and not purely there to carry out the demands of their rulers . This Car park used to run efficiently and contributed approx  £600,000 of income per annum at very little cost .A succession of politicians have proved that they cannot run a profit making car park yet expect us to vote for them to effectively run a nation . What chance of being a successful nation when so many are not able to run a car park that used to be  successful on most levels. Most of them seem to have the ability  to be able to turn any big organisation into a small company very quickly .

You don’t need the app to stop for pickup/drop offs , you don’t need to do anything

You certainly do if you turn up to collect someone an find that their flight is half an hour late . By the time they have collected baggage etc you are going into must have an app time . Why cant you just park , go in for a coffee and meet people without installing an app . The whole thing is so user unfriendly that a lot of people just will not bother  to use it .  The proof will be in the figures. This car park used to generate £600,000 of income at minimal cost . Now we are having to increase prices ,pay a percentage to a third party {RingGo) I suspect that we employ more people to regularly check registrations etc . We used to have a cheap to run efficient ,profitable system . Government have now managed to totally reverse that .

Who goes atop airport  for pick ups without checking if it’s on time, do they have  luggage to collect etc. anyone doing that in UK would have a very large amount to pay on exit !!

That's just ridiculous. People go to airports for an hour or so for all sorts of reasons. To see friends /relatives off, to have meeting, job interviews etc etc. There is a cafe land side being used by people not necessarily flying. I thought the idea was to get as many people as possible using the airport facilties.

However it seems this administration is trying to get as few people as possible using it..

Be interesting or hear what the cafe  concession franchise think of it all . But you can bet if there’s a way to completely screw something up our government will manage it ..And they have . Also be good to hear what the current uplift for parking is compared to the approx 50k a month previous .

There was a rumour the cafe was moving airside as nobody is using it as it is. Hopefully they will do that to reduce reliance on the shittest and most expensive branch of Costa that exists anywhere in the UK.
